Pet Safety Reminder
Fireworks can be fun for people, but they’re often frightening for pets. As you plan your celebrations, remember to keep your furry family members safe and secure.
To start, make sure your pets are indoors before the fireworks begin. If possible, create a quiet, comfortable space for them to relax. In addition, double-check that their ID tags and microchips are up to date in case they become startled and escape.
You can also visit vcas.us/LostAndFound for tips on keeping pets safe or finding them if they go missing.
Amnesty for Animals: Ventura County Animal Services will waive boarding and impound fees for stray pets brought in between July 1 and July 8, as long as they are reclaimed by July 8. Licensing, medical, and microchip fees may still apply. For more information, call 805-388-4242.
