How long have you been in the real estate industry for?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I have been a Realtor\u00ae for over 20 years, and a broker for most of those years.<\/p>\n

I initially owned a brokerage with another real estate firm, but I felt they lacked the personal touch and solutions necessary when helping clients in a one-on-one setting. My experience there lead me to look for a better solution. When none could be found, I resolved to make something better. It was in 1999 that I founded my own real estate company: a boutique luxury real estate firm offering that personal touch and range of solutions the big box company could not. That company was highly successful, but despite the success I continued looked toward the next plateau.<\/p>\n

I had always admired and respected the brand recognition and scope of Sotheby\u2019s International Realty, so when I met Scott Webber of LIV Sotheby\u2019s International Realty, I knew the opportunity couldn\u2019t be a better fit for our agents and our clients. Since, my experience with the brand has been much more than I ever expected. Never in my 25 years in the industry have I had the tools, reach or support LIV SIR gives.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

What initially drew you to the real estate industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

My background was in finance and development. Fresh out of college worked with my father who is a general contractor in Ojai, California and briefly in construction before delving into the financial management world and investment banking. I joined an equities company and eventually became a partner, investing in a number of projects during the 1990’s. During that time I invested in real estate for myself and I felt this was my calling. After working on a start-up company for a franchise I later moved onto starting my own. The rest is history!<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

Personally, what drives you in this industry?<\/strong><\/p>\n

There is no feeling like helping others buy a home, \u00a0finding out what their lifestyle calls for, and knowing the significance that place will hold for them throughout their lives. For many people, that home is where they will settle and put down roots, raise children, make career changes on their path to success, celebrate holidays and achievements, and more. For others it is an investment or maybe a second home as an extension of that lifestyle they love. Buying a home is not just one of the largest investments a person will make in his or her lifetime, it is also a commitment to a better future for themselves and their loved ones. It is that knowledge that I am helping someone with this commitment that truly drives me in this industry. I work hard for to better the lives of my clients.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

What are your hobbies\/interests outside of the office?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am grateful to have such a large family here close by and my favorite pastimes revolve around them. I am a family guy at heart. My beautiful wife, Susan, my wonderful daughters and grandson, and extended family as well, are the driving forces in my life. Ventura County offers so much, by way of things to do and see. Some of my favorites are camping at Hobson, Faria or El Capitan, or going off the grid and heading out to the desert in Kern County for a couple of weeks with the dirt bikes. I enjoy local surf, diving or hiking like Botanical Gardens in Ventura or Matilija Canyon in Ojai.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

 <\/p>\n

What community do you live in? What do you like about it?<\/strong><\/p>\n

I live in Downtown on the Ventura hillside, where I get to wake up to ocean breezes and end the day with vibrant island sunsets. One of the best aspects of living in Ventura is that I am mere minutes from anything and everything. I can walk to the beach or hike to Grant Park from my home. I can be in LA in an hour or Santa Barbara in 20 minutes, or I can be at a premier ski locale in just a few hours. But despite everything being so close, Ventura is really special beach community. It\u2019s a great place to live.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
